After over 20 years in the corporate world, I launched Virtual Management Concepts in 2006 as a result of my increasing dissatisfaction with my professional life and a very difficult shared custody situation.
My Story
The juggling act was getting increasingly more difficult, I needed to have a flexible schedule and still make a living, what was I to do?
The more stressed and unhappy I became, the more time I spent online poking around looking for a solution, an epiphany or just a new path. A trend was starting to emerge. people were building online businesses, offering support, helping each other, quitting their jobs and still paying the bills. I wanted to be part of this movement and eventually found the very young Virtual Assistant industry, this was perfect, I could do this, I was already doing this! As I learned more, I realized that the work I loved and was fighting to do in the corporate world was embraced online and would be appreciated and valued by small business owners. Against everything I was taught, I quit my job, without any source of income and I was on my way.
I have never looked back, this journey has been harder than I thought, more rewarding than I ever imagined and has totally and unequivocally changed my life. I did the impossible, by taking a leap! I’ve merged my corporate and entrepreneurial skills, created a world filled with work I truly love that nourishes my need to help others by providing much needed social media, online marketing and public relations services, virtually, to small businesses, entrepreneurs, author’s and other professionals. Plus I get to be involved in my son’s childhood which was only a pipe dream for me just a few short years ago.
On the personal side, I am a single “mom” to an amazing 9 year old boy and two sweet cats named Whitey and Molly, we live, work and play in Northern Westchester County, about an hour north of NYC.
